FAQ

OTILYAS shows up in pop-ups, studio visits, and collaborations. This page is the record of those days.

Send photos from each event. I’ll add them here with the event name you give me — I won’t guess.

Want to host or collaborate? Write to otilyas@gmail.com or use the contact page.

Shopping OTILYAS

What is wearable art jewelry?
Jewelry designed as art: sculptural, often asymmetrical, made by hand. Form and texture matter as much as the metal.

Is Fine jewelry different art from Wearable art?
No. It is the same OTILYAS wearable art — the same sculptures — in two metals. Fine jewelry is solid gold. Wearable art on the site is gold-plated (often over brass). Shop Fine jewelry or Wearable art. Choose the metal door first so you do not mix them.

How do I know which line a product is in?
Fine pieces live under Fine jewelry. Wearable art pieces live under Wearable art. The product page states the metal. If it is unclear, email before you pay.

Who is OTILYAS for?
People who want sculptural handmade jewelry — solid gold or gold-plated — not generic trend pieces.

Who designs OTILYAS?
Tali Shpritcer Dalal. Studio: Sheinkin 17, Tel Aviv. otilyas@gmail.com · +972-54-782-9289.

Why is the brand called OTILYAS?
The name honors Otilya, Tali’s great-grandmother.

Do you have a store I can visit?
Yes. Sheinkin 17, Tel Aviv. Write or call first. Steps for a studio visit: Studio appointment. Pop-ups are on Hosts, events & collaborations.

Can I try a piece on?
Yes, at the studio when Tali is there. Message first. We do not list walk-in hours here. Book via Studio appointment.

Do you sell gift cards or BuyMe?
BuyMe exists off this site. A Shopify gift card is not on otilyas.com yet. For a gift, buy a piece or email us.

How do I buy for someone else?
Order on the site and use their address, or collect from Sheinkin 17. Add a gift note if you want it packed that way.

Do you gift-wrap?
Pieces leave the studio packed with care. Add a gift note at checkout or write otilyas@gmail.com if you need it marked as a gift.

Where are bestsellers?
Bestsellers.

Metal and materials

What metals do you use?
Fine jewelry: solid gold, often 14k or 18k (yellow, white, or rose when the product says so). Wearable art: gold-plated fashion jewelry, often over brass. The product page is the source for that piece.

Is Fine jewelry solid gold or plated?
Fine jewelry is solid gold. Wearable art is gold-plated.

What does gold-plated mean?
A layer of gold over another metal. It can wear with water, perfume, lotion, and friction. See gold-plated care.

What do 14k and 18k mean?
14k is 14 parts gold out of 24 — about 58% gold. 18k is 18 parts out of 24 — about 75% gold. Both are mixed with other metals so they wear well. The product page states the karat for that piece.

Do you use 22k?
Most Fine pieces on the site are 14k or 18k. If you want 22k or another karat, ask. Do not assume a karat unless the product says it.

Do you work in silver or unplated brass?
Some pieces do. Read the product title. If it is not written, ask before you order.

Are the stones real?
When a product names a stone, that is the stone used. Check the product page.

Is the jewelry hypoallergenic?
Solid gold is usually kinder to skin than plated fashion jewelry. If you react to jewelry, write us the product name before you buy.

Does gold-plated jewelry tarnish?
It can dull or wear if it gets wet, meets perfume, or rubs. Store plated pieces dry and separate.

Can I wear plated jewelry in water?
Take it off before shower, sea, or pool.

Can I wear Fine gold in water?
Solid gold holds up better. Still take it off for the sea, chlorine, and gym when you can.

Will a new piece match one I already own?
Fine 14k or 18k yellow gold should sit close in color within the same karat. Plated gold can look a little different. Send a photo if you need a match.

Can you make the same sculpture in the other metal?
Often yes — the same form in solid gold or gold-plated. It costs differently and takes making time. Email the design name.

Do pieces have a hallmark or certificate?
Solid gold Fine pieces follow the metal stated on the product page. Keep your order email as proof of purchase. Warranty text: warranty certificate. For insurance paperwork, write otilyas@gmail.com.

Making time and custom

How long does a piece take?
Each piece is wearable art, made slowly and carefully by hand. A model usually takes 2–3 weeks. I do my best to shorten that whenever I can.

Why so long?
It is not factory stock. Tali makes the piece.

Can you rush an order?
Ask. I will try. I will not promise a date I cannot keep.

Do you make custom pieces?
Yes. Start on the contact page or book a studio appointment.

How long is a custom order?
Plan on at least the same 2–3 weeks, sometimes more. We will say so before you pay.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?
Handmade means small differences. The photo is the guide.

Can I change a size, length, or ear wire?
Often yes. Write the change first. Some changes are not possible on a finished piece.

How do I find my ring size?
On ring product pages use Measure your ring (Ring Sizer app + US / mm / EU guide). If you are not sure, choose “I don’t know my size” or measure at the Sheinkin studio.

Do you resize rings?
Ask with the ring name and the size you need. Not every sculptural ring can be resized.

Can I change or cancel an order after I pay?
Write otilyas@gmail.com as soon as you can. Once making has started, changes may not be possible.

Ordering, shipping, returns

Do you ship from Israel?
Yes, in Israel and worldwide. Rates and times are at checkout. See the shipping policy.

How long until it ships?
Making time is usually 2–3 weeks, then carrier time. Israel home delivery is often about 5–7 business days after it ships.

Do I pay customs or import tax?
For international orders, customs and import fees are the buyer’s responsibility unless checkout says otherwise.

Do I get a tracking number?
Yes, once it is sent.

Can I collect in person?
Yes, from the studio when we agree a time. Sheinkin 17, Tel Aviv — see Studio appointment.

What if I need to return it?
Unworn, original packaging, inside the window on the shipping policy (14 days from receipt). Custom and sale pieces are final. Shipping is not refunded. Full gold refunds follow the policy (80% of the purchase value). Write otilyas@gmail.com first. Returns: Sheinkin 17, Tel Aviv 65231. Also see refund policy.

What payments do you take?
Whatever Shopify Checkout shows on your order.

Do prices include tax?
Checkout shows tax and shipping for your address.

Care, warranty, after you buy

How do I care for gold-plated pieces?
No water, no perfume or lotion on the piece, store separately, soft dry cloth. Full notes: care instructions.

How do I care for solid gold?
Wipe with a soft cloth. Keep stones from hard knocks. Avoid harsh chemicals.

Do you clean, repair, or re-plate a piece?
Write otilyas@gmail.com with the piece name and a photo. We will say what is possible and if there is a fee. Plating wears with use — that is normal for gold-plated jewelry.

What does the warranty cover?
A 12-month limited warranty from purchase for manufacturing defects. It does not cover normal wear, scratches, color change from perfume, cream or water, misuse, plating loss from friction or chemicals, or third-party repairs. Full text: warranty certificate. Keep your proof of purchase.

How do I register my piece?
Register your jewelry.

I have a problem with a piece. What do I do?
Email the order number and a photo to otilyas@gmail.com.
